My name is Shannon Hill and I am a 35 year old mother of 3. My brillant yet quintessential daughter, Chloe is 11, my sweet 4 year old son John, and my very happy go lucky one year old Baylor, the rest of my family, and I would like to thank you so much for the opportunity of the perfect lifestyle renewal system!

When Baylor was about 5 months old I learned of your website and signed up for the 30 day challenge. At 156 lbs of untoned muscle, slowly recovering from a c-section as beautiful baby boy did not want to enter the world well into 10 months of pregnancy, my body was tired and worn out. I had suffered from lyme disease several years before, and know what a healthy diet and nutrition are all about, but I could not get back on track and my energy levels were low. I had headaches, muscles cramps, and joints ached. It was a very hard time physically as well as mentally, emotionally, and spiritually!

Upon starting the 30 day challenge I thought of Yoga as an easy way to strengthen the core without high impact cardio. Incredible how wrong I was. Although it is these things I came to realize very quickly it is SO MUCH MORE! In the first month of the program I learned so much about where my body was at, where I wanted it to be, what it could and could not do, what it should be able to do, as well as why I was not feeling well. The pounds shed off of me, every day was an amazing renewal of body, mind, and spirit. I woke up feeling refreshed and excited. My body was sore one week and limber the next! Asanas that I could not conquer one day were becoming more and more a part of my every day actions. My hair began to grow out long and lush. My skin began to clear up and glow. My muscles began to tone and even my self confidence and mental well being heightened! I then began to practice mediation and yoga every day. I learned about breathing, how it starts and ends each and every day, and where it can take and keep you!”

I was already practicing and teaching yoga for many years when I registered for Dashama’s 30 Day Yoga Challenge/ Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Retreat. I had already been studying and sharing her yoga techniques via the internet and her videos online.

My experience in Bali was nothing short of life changing. I went through some deep layers and released years of negativity/grief and by the end of the month, I felt truly enlightened. I lost 35 pounds (and went down 5 belt notches!) in just 16 days, following the simple and surprisingly delicious healthy diet plan. Now I can walk by a mirror with pride in my body for the first time in many years.

Following the 30 Day Yoga Challenge and Perfect 10 Lifestyle programs in Bali was the best thing to happen. I learned how to control my body and mind to obtain a constant stream of energy throughout the day through breath work, eating good foods, prana, and joy. Happiness is the biggest energy booster. I just coined that phrase. :)

My faith in humanity is restored, and I have learned to love no matter what…and this joy I have is giving me the energy and power to do anything I want.

I started the 30DYC home study course before attending Dashama’s Yoga Training Retreat in Bali, to get in shape for the challenge. I lost about 40 pounds while practicing from home, and the weight yo-yo’d a bit, as my discipline was on and off. I got to Bali not expecting to experience too much change. I thought, what can really happen in just 2 weeks? Boy was I wrong! I lost 35 pounds (and went down 5 belt notches!) in just 16 days, following the simple and surprisingly delicious healthy diet plan. I learned so much about healthy nutrition, which was a surprise, as it was not advertised much with the retreat.

The yoga classes were hard for me at first, but I was amazed by the progress I made. I set a goal to achieve ‘full wheel pose’ by the end of the retreat, which I was not too sure I’d accomplish… Not only did I accomplish my goals I set, I exceeded them!

Now I can walk by a mirror with pride in my body for the first time in many years. I made a ton of new friends and discovered a new passion for yoga and for traveling outside the USA, something I had not ever done before. Thank you so much Dashama! After practicing the “30DYC” system, I have lost weight (14 lbs), increased my energy (I no longer feel the need to turn to caffeine to help me get through my day), and I’m sleeping better (I used to suffer from insomnia and I’ve been taking melatonin/valerian to help remedy that, but during the challenge I didn’t even need to rely on these supplements). My goal was to get through the challenge and I did it! The breakthroughs that I’ve made are that I want to incorporate both yoga and meditation into my daily life. I’m so glad I started the 30DYC! I downloaded all 4 ebooks and they are really really good and well written. I printed them out and organized them. One actually can work with them and integrate a lot of things quiet easily. I am glad you don’t write like a scientist but as a person. It is as if you are talking to your students directly face to face (or heart to heart). Hence I can open up in that way easily. Looking forward to some fresh cooking soon. The reminders about what to eat are great too and some super foods I also did not know about. I got some read and green organic powders today to mix into protein shakes. Nicely alkaline all!

I’ve been learning a lot from your videos. I recommended them and the 30DYC to someone looking to take fresh steps towards fitness, and challenged myself to integrate your yoga offering into my own regimen. I’ve committed to a year of Muay Thai training, here in Oakland, and need good, deep stretches to keep me healthy and strong. The gym I go to trains champion fighters, but doesn’t offer much about flexibility. So, I’ve been using your videos to help keep me accountable and connected to my yoga practice. Oh, gosh! I LOVE the challenge videos. I started going to a local yoga studio and I love it! I signed on for the yoga challenge to enhance my daily lifestyle and for help on the dates I don’t go to class. But, when I was in college I went to a Pilates class a few times a week, and this sequence reminds me of a class we had only once (in the three years I participated) because I don’t think the instructor could even handle it! Thank you for the daily inspiration :) As a runner, I added yoga to my workout routine for a more versatile lifestyle and I see a difference in my mentality and my decision making every day.

I am a yoga instructor and I LOVE yoga and the way it makes me feel and the tools its given me to deal with emotions and life situations. Even though I appreciate what yoga is, I still have trouble getting myself to practice regularly. Your videos are perfect because they are short enough that there is no excuse not to run through one in the morning or before bed. I even continue the 30-Day Challenge while I was on vacation and felt so alive and energetic because of it. Dear Dashama, I have been doing yoga since 2005, before I knew you via youtube, I already had some knowledges and experiences in yoga, but you refreshed my feeling, now I am more relaxed when I practicing yoga. I did not follow 30dayyogachallenge day by day cause I always become much weaker (less strength )during my painful menstrual period, so what the most I want to learn from you are: – which asanas or sequences can release or reduce menstrual pain and which asanas are suitable for this period to do ( for example shoulder standing is not good and so…). – how to pick up asanas for daily practicing, I mean repeat same ones for one weak or everyday should do different ones ? I have been overweight,very, since childhood and had never attempted regular exercise.Middle aged and arthritic and almost unable to walk normal it was time to change. I began using a variety of work out videos. While doing a workout ”dance” i severely injured myself damaging leg and hips, torn mjuscles,tendons etc. and was almost unable to walk at all. I was depressed at the set back after just beginning to exercise and see weight loss results. I saw the 30 Day Yoga challenge on Facebook. i chatted with friend who has practiced yoga for many years who was aware of my condition. He encouraged me to try the challenge. That was in early April.. It was a great intro to yoga and the yoga was perfect for my healing process. Dashama;s low pressure approach (love the :”if its available to you..”way of suggestioning) was welcoming and comforting to an ignorant novice . In the 5 months since i have kept yoga as a part of my daily lifestyle and am excited learning more about yoga lifestyle influences and have encouraged many many others to seek out and try the challenge-especially those similar to me dealing with weight, age and inexperience. ( iactually work at store selling DVD’s and when helping customers in the workout video selection iI have often shared with them how to start the 30 Day Yoga Cahllenge :D )

Currently, I am on day 26 of the 30 day challenge. Just after a few days of doing Dashama’s videos, I felt such an improvement in my flexibility, strength, and the biggest transformation, my spirituality. After her videos, I feel so much lighter, relaxed, and happier. Because of this challenge, I will be doing yoga as often as I can (and as of right now, that is 7 days a week). Dashama is truly an example to live by.

Hi there, First of i would like to thank you for your amazing and most inspiring videos.I’ve been trying to come up with a routine during this summer break.I can’t help myself wonder whether it is a good idea to start in the morning with 3 miles of running followed by a couple sets of sun salutations as warm up and then continue with some of your 30 day yoga challenge routines (day 1-6 in particular).and after that finish with some crunches, push ups planks etc.I’ve got also my boxing workout later in the afternoon.And maybe finish the day with some light stretches in the morning. I have been doing martial arts since age 8 and I’m now 44. Recently, I tried a new kick from TKD, an art that I don’t usually use. I found a new weakness in my game. It was that my “outer” hips were not only really tight, but rather weak, also; they tended to cramp-up when I did this particular kick. My Muay Thai kicks relied very little on this outer hip flexibility. So I found a 2008 post of yours on “opening up your hips” and I spent about 45 minutes working your routine. Not only did I feel what I was wanting to feel-flexibility in the outer hips, but my lower spine started decompressing! I had simply accepted my lower back pain as something I would have to “just live with;” I’ve had it for over 20 years. Aloha! Dashama, your Yoga Challenge was absolutely brilliant! I didn’t have a deep relationship with yoga or a regular practice before, but YOU are so inspiring and loving, that I will certainly take myself to a whole new level and start living a happier life! I feel so blissed after every practice and I know that if I could just manage to make more better choices in life everything will be beautiful. Your last visualization video was the dot on i for your Yoga Challenge, it just gave me so much more inspiration and I just set myself a new goal for this summer – to learn handstand! Although I just reached the level when I can place my hands flat on the floor in forward bend, I think it’s a great goal to work towards! And your whole Challenge was just amazing, everything was perfect! Thank you so much and I really look forward to all your videos and new Challenge in September!
